What are own label products?
‘Own label‘ is simply another term used for having your own brand – in the case of our industry, your own brand of supplements. It is also sometimes referred to as ‘private label’.
In summary, the supplements, health foods, herbals and other products are manufactured or provided by one company (i.e. Specialist Supplements Ltd), for resale under another company’s brand (i.e. your company).
How does it work?
We supply the ‘white pots’ (unlabelled products) and you can then resell our wholesale supplements under your own personalised labels – ‘own label’.
These labels feature your company logo, unique product names, colour scheme and contact details, essentially providing you with a range of products that is unique to your business. You have your very own range of supplements!
As far as any retail customer is concerned, you are the only retailer of these products. This protects hard-earned customer loyalty and promotes repeat business. It also gives you greater freedom when pricing your products in the retail market, as no direct product price comparisons can be made. This usually results in a higher profit margin.
